Having qualified I am able to carry out a full range of medico-legal assessment and intervention services.
This includes child protection, care proceedings, Mental Health Capacity for Children, Adults and Older Adults (now under the umbrella of Adults) and private law cases – within my area of expertise within Psychology - across Southern England and - if required - further afield.
I have also been involved in cases that have reached the Criminal Court with regards to both children and adults. All my clinical work is self-regulated and not reliant on support staff.
Areas of medico-legal expertise and ready practice:
• Comprehensive and global family assessments for Child care proceedings – This covers the full age range spectrum.
• Attachment, parenting, sibling and family assessments
• Private Law proceedings assessments for custody and access controversy
• Forensic adolescent and adult risk assessments
• Personal injury assessments of adults and children
• Assessments of post traumatic stress disorder – Working with both acute and
long-term PTSD. This includes war veterans.
• Cognitive, personality, emotional, developmental and comprehensive
psychometric assessments of adults and children. Due to my developmental
background - ranging from paediatrics through to older (now incorporated
under the umbrella of Adults) adults - I can comfortably implement and adapt
assessments through the age spectrum and across the cognitive potential range
to meet the client’s needs at the time.
• Assessment of abuse, domestic violence and emotional harm – across the
gender and age spectrum.
• Assessments touching on neuropsychological and developmental delay and the
subsequent impact thereof – stretching into adulthood.
• Supported feedback for potential care plans emanating from assessment is
usually included/recommended.
• Supervision of child and adult care professionals - whether supervisory or
hands-on caring - is also available.
